And another story is told about Abbas Pasha when Ali Pasha Al-Shamsherji was sent to the Arabian Peninsula; To buy him Arabian horses, so he bought him a number of horses, and among them was one that was sold and its owner was on the pilgrimage. Eight months have passed since the sale, and Abbas said: We do not know your horse; Because we have bought many horses, he said: She will know me, and if she does not know me, I have no horse with you. So they agreed to that, and they brought out all the horses, so the owner of the mare stood on a high hill and started calling his horse by its name, so the mare raised her head and moved her ears to distinguish the sound. Abbas Pasha was impressed, and gave him the horse and its price, and asked him to promise them a skilled of its production.<\/p>\n
When he learned that a Bedouin sheikh had been captured during the campaign of Muhammad Ali Pasha in the Arabian Peninsula, and had been under arrest in the Cairo Citadel for more than twenty years, he was released on the condition that he get him the best horse in Najd. In fulfillment of his promise, the sheikh sent to Abbas Pasha the horse “Qadir” of great beauty and exalted blood.<\/p>\n
