In this hadith, Al-Faruq Omar Ibn Al-Khattab – may God be pleased with him – helped a man to fight for the sake of God, by giving him a horse to attack him, so the man failed to spend on him, and tired him until the horse was weak, which is what Ibn Al-Khattab called to buy it from him, but he hesitated; Because he knows that it will be cheap because of his weakness and emaciation, so he retracted his purchase, and consulted the Messenger – may God’s prayers and peace be upon him – in that matter; In order to reassure his heart, as he was finding something in himself, the Messenger of God – may God’s prayers and peace be upon him – forbade him from buying it, even if it was at the cheapest price; Because it was given to a man in the cause of God Almighty, so it is not permissible for him to follow him or be attached to him. So that the gifted person does not favor him with his price, so that Omar will return some of his charity; Since he has left it and expiated his sins, it is not valid for him to return to it; That is why the Messenger – may God’s prayers and peace be upon him – said about his purchase of the “return” in charity, even if he was going to buy it with money, and he gave him an example of ugliness, reprimand and alienation from the stick in charity with the stick in the vomit that comes out of the stomach, which is an agreeable and clear analogy to the danger of returning in charity.
