On the authority of Uqbah bin Aamir, he said: He said – may God’s prayers and peace be upon him-: “Shoot and ride, and to shoot is more beloved to me than to ride. Everything a Muslim man plays with is void, except for his shooting with his bow, his discipline his horse, and playing with him is part of his right.”
It was included by Al-Tirmidhi and Ibn Majah, and Al-Tirmidhi said: It is good and authentic.
And in another narration by Abu Dawud on the authority of Uqbah bin Aamer: “With one arrow, God will enter three people into Paradise: its maker, who is counted for his good work, and the one who shoots with it, and who brings it forward, and who throws and rides, and that you throw is more beloved to me than that you ride, and whoever abandons it after knowing it.” It is a blessing that he neglected, or he said: disbelief in it.”

Narrated by Abu Dawood, and the wording is for him, Al-Nasa’i, and Al-Hakim, and he said: The chain of transmission is authentic, and Al-Bayhaqi from the path of Al-Hakim and others.
And in another narration: “And there is nothing of amusement except three: a man petting his wife, chasing his horse, and throwing his bow.”
Narrated by Ahmad, Abu Dawood, and Al-Nasa’i in “Al-Mujtaba” and “Al-Kubra” with addition: The man learned to swim.
