Dr. Erwin Adolf Bedush mentioned in his book “The Egyptian Arabian Horse”, and this book has a copy preserved in the American Library of Congress, the genealogy of Ali Pasha’s horses that have not been published before, by saying: Pasha Sharif left records of his horses, but they were lost after his death, so we relied on On the information mentioned by Lady Anne Blunt in her memoirs and also by Carl Ruswan in his memoirs, knowing that these two sources have never agreed.

First, horses on Pasha Sharif Al-Rassan Al-Saqlawi Al-Jafari

It was divided into three families: Jazia, Samha, and Fariha.

It is a blue mare from the roll, which he obtained from Abbas Pasha’s first auction.

  1. 1. Bint Jazia: a blue mare. Her father is Al-Zabini, and her mother is Jazia. She was born in 1860.
  2. 2. Wazir: a free-wheeling blue horse. His father is Al-Zabini and his mother is Jazia. He was born between 1862 and 1863.
  3. 3. Harra: a blue mare. Her father is Al-Zebiny and her mother is Jazia. She was born in 1860.
  4. 4. Yamama: a blue mare. Her father is Shweman and her mother is a daughter of Jazia. She was born in 1872.
  5. 5. Helwa: a blue mare. Her father is Schoemann and her mother is Hurra. She was born in 1875.
  6. 6. Daughter Hurra: a blue mare. Her father is Aziz and her mother is Hurra. She was born in the middle of 1880.
  7. 7. The blonde sweet girl: She was called Jawhara. She is a blond mare. Her father is Aziz and her mother is sweet. She was born in 1880.

  13. 13. Ghazala: a blue mare, her father is Ibn Sharara and her mother is Bint Hilweh. She is a famous mare from the origin of the founding mare of Rasan al-Saqlawi.
  14. 14. Bint Bint Hurra: She was called Ghazia, and she is a red mare. Her father is Ibn Noura and her mother is Bint Hurra. She was born in 1897.

We follow the unpublished genealogical record of Ali Pasha Sharif’s horses, which was mentioned by Dr. Erwin Adolf Bedush in his book “The Egyptian Arabian Horse”; Based on the information that Lady Anne Blunt and Karl Raswan mentioned in their memoirs, namely:

o Samha family

It belongs to the Al-Saqlawi Al-Ghadari Al-Rassan from the Fedaan tribe, and it was obtained by Pasha from the auction of horses sold by Ilhami Pasha Ibn Abbas Pasha I.

  1. 1. Jamila: Her father is the horse, Gran Dahman Shahwan, from the Najeeb Stud, and her mother is Samha.
  2. 2. The blue rosary: ​​a blue mare. No information was mentioned about the mother and father. She was born in 1870 in the stables of Ali Pasha Sharif.
  3. 3. Ibn Nader: a blue horse. His father is a minister and his mother is Samha. He was born in 1871.
  4. 4. A beautiful girl: a blue mare, her father is a horse Schoemann and her mother is Jamila, born in 1884.
  5. 5. Bint Jamila the Great: a blue mare, her father is Aziz and her mother is a beautiful girl, born in 1894.
  6. 6. The daughter of a beautiful little girl: a blond mare, her father is Aziz, and her mother is a beautiful girl, born in 1895.
  7. 7. Jamil: a blond horse. His father is Aziz, and his mother is a beautiful girl. He was born in 1896.

o Freiha family

Ali Pasha Sharif of the Rolla tribe brought her, her father was Ibn Fidawi.

  1. 1. Fariha’s daughter: a blue mare, her father is Aziz, and her mother, Freiha, was born in 1884.
  2. 2. Bint Bint Freiha: She is also called “Fasihah”, a mare of blue color. Her father is Ibn Sharara, and her mother is Bint Freiha, born in 1892.
  3. 3. Bint Bint Freiha: She is called “So-and-so.” She is a red mare. Her father is Ibn Noura, and her mother is Bint Freiha, born in 1893.

Ali Pasha Sharif’s previously unpublished horse genealogy record

The previously unpublished genealogical record of Ali Pasha Sharif’s horses, which was mentioned by Dr. Erwin Adolf Bedush in his book “The Egyptian Arabian Horse”, included the horses of the halter, Dahmane Shahwan, and a number of families fall under it, and their statement is as follows:

This halter was founded from three mare, namely, the mare of Ibn Naqadan, which is called “Talqa”, and Noura Faras, which was brought from the Arabian Peninsula, and was called “Shalfa”, from Kahil of the Marah tribe, which was obtained by Pasha Sharif from the auction of Ilhami Pasha. Ibn Abbas Pasha I in 1861, and the hijla is a red mare from Qahtan, obtained from an auction by Elhamy Pasha in 1861.
